Tell me about FlickPeek ?
FlickPeek has come a long way. We first started as a basic link indexing system to funny videos, links to movie trailers and clips, anime and other cartoons.

The road was tough, as it is with any user generated content application. Our aim is to transform FlickPeek in to a successfull combination between a reliable video search engine and a movie reference - because of course the most important videos are movies and tv shows.

We are a small, young and well funded company with big plans for the future. Our aim is to help people by offering good, useful products. Our main goal is to make a difference towards good in the world.
How do you get relevant links and search results ?
FlickPeek is a video search engine. This means that we use a crawler or webbot to index links from different websites.

At the time of writing this entry, FlickPeek indexes( or tries to index....we're always working on the webbot...) more than 1000 websites that cover a very diverse range of interests and that have one thing in common: they host videos.

We do not discriminate between different websites. Our automated technology ranks results by a combination of metrics like "most viewed", "page popularity" and other internal values.

We also allow a somewhat restricted ( mostly due to the risk of abuse that user generated content applications are faced with ) interface for manual link adding to our result database.

We use algorithms from the domain of computational intelligence and neural networks ( named entity extraction, keyword term extraction ) to identify tags, categories and other properties of each video. We apply these algorithms to the crawled content and thus we obtain increased relevancy in our results.
