True Blood star Alexander Skarsgård hung out in Manhattan this weekend, making a brief stop at a star-studded Gucci Icon-Temporary Flash sneaker store Oct. 23. Skarsgård, who was born in Stockholm, Sweden, became an overnight celebrity after he was cast as the bad-boy vampire Eric Northman in the hit HBO series True Blood. Skarsgård has been romantically linked to Kate Bosworth (his co-star in the upcoming film Straw Dogs). Alexander, who's dad is actor Stellan Skarsgård, 58, (Angels & Demons, Ronin, Good Will Hunting), will begin shooting season 3 of True Blood next month. Vampires will be well represented at this year's Spike's TV 'Scream 2009'. The cast of True Blood - Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin, Alexander Skarsgård, and Sam Trammell - as well as the show's creator, Alan Ball, will be in attendance at the event. Twilight cast members will also be on hand at the 4th annual award show honoring sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and comic book movies and TV shows. The event will also premiere new footage from the second Twilight film, New Moon.
Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire will present a tribute to comic book legend Stan Lee who'll be receiving the Comic-Con Icon Award. George Romero, the "godfather of the modern horror film," will pick up this year's Scream Mastermind Award.
