WGA Awards Fete Slumdog, Milk, Mad Men, 30 Rock
added by newsBotSlumdog Millionaire continued its winning streak this awards season, with Simon Beaufoy winning the 2009 Writers Guild of America award this evening for adapted screenplay. Dustin Lance Black won the award for best original screenplay for Milk. Slumdog has already won DGA, SAG, PGA and Golden Globe awards, and is a multi-award favorite for the Oscars. Milk has won SAG and PGA awards and is also a strong Oscar contender in multiple categories.
On the television side, awards went to the writers of Mad Men (drama), 30 Rock (comedy), Recount and John Adams in long-form categories, and In Treatment, Breaking Bad, and The Simpsons in various other fields. Controversially, among other awards was one for videogame writing (to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed). Some publishers declined to submit their titles for consideration, viewing the award as primarily an organizing tool for a guild seeking to gain a foothold in a non-unionized sector.

Preview of 'Numb3rs' 5.14: Sneakerhead Guest Starring Eve
added by newsBotA sneak peek to episode 5.14 of "Numb3rs" has been released. Less than 30-second long, the video footage gives out that this time the FBI team are faced with one unique crime as it is explained that the bad guys put up a heist only to pass up the diamond and the gold and walk away with a pair of valuable sneakers from the vault of a foreign ambassador.
Aside of teasing the upcoming plot, the preview video also shares a glimpse of Eve, who will be seen as a guest-star on the episode entitled "Sneakerhead". While the snippet doesn't give much of the Grammy-winning musician's role, it does preview her working up her role.
Directed by Emilio Estevez using the script written by Aaron Rahsaan Thomas, the upcoming episode of "Numb3rs" follows the team as they delve into the world of sneaker collecting in order to solve a crime involving a-quarter-of-a-million dollars sole.

added by newsBotThe 1999 film 10 Things I Hate About You was one of a popular spate of teen films that hit theaters right before the new millennium and now, 10 years later, the film is getting new life on the small screen. ABC Family will be premiering the TV version of 10 Things I Hate About You on Tuesday, July 7 at 8 Pm Et and I was recently given the opportunity to visit the set and chat with the cast of this new series. Before the other reporters and I headed out to Santa Clarita Studios, we met at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood to have breakfast with one of the cast members who wasn't filming that day, Ethan Peck, who plays the mysterious Patrick Verona, a character which the late Heath Ledger portrayed in what turned out to be his breakthrough role. Here's what Peck had to say during our chat.
