Zheng Feng Born in 1983 in Wuxi, China, James immigrated to USA at the age of seven. Ten years later at the age of 17, James started his film making career at California High school acting and making films with friends who were in the video production class. He spent three months finishing his first film Triad V.Taking a turn in interests by focusing on acting during his college years, James studied theater acting at UCSD (2002-2006) while majoring in international economics & Chinese studies and minoring in law. He acted in a few plays, but mainly focused on acting for the camera. He starred in more than 20 student/independent films during his four years at UCSD. Seven days after graduation, James was already on a plane to co-star in a feature film shot in China. After finishing the film, James visited Shanghai for vacation and decided he would stay here to pursue acting. For the next two years, James hustled to make a living: acting/modeling/live performer(freestyle rapper)/Internet TV/voice over/host for live events. Making a name for himself in Shanghai in the process and making precious friendships, James lived in Shanghai for almost two years. Having accomplished most of his goals by then, James decided to turn back to his first love: film making. He went back to his old writing/directing/producing roots from high school and wrote/directed/produced and starred in his first short film 600. Using the many connections he made, James was able to pull all the resources together and finish 600 within two weeks. After having its premier at the 5th Shanghai Short Film Festival (where it snagged two awards), 600 went on to the U.S. and international film circuit crossing continents from Asia, USA, Canada, England, all the way to a nomination for the prestigious Golden Knight award at the 47th Golden Knight International Film Festival in Malta. Not a fan in using other people's money to shoot his own projects, James works part time jobs to support his own films. Until he has a project worthy of investment, he feels he should continue financially supporting his own films with his own two hands.James's second film "Drowning" has finished post-production and will be having its world premier at the 2009 DC Independent Film Festival in Washington DC March 14th at 4pm.Up on deck: a feature documentary (in production), a follow up to 600 (in development), and a feature crime-drama (in development) are all in the works.
