To Battlestar Galactica from the gays: Thanks for nothing!
added by newsBotLt. Felix Gaeta (Alessandro Juliani) and Lt. Hoshi (Brad Dryborough)
Last December, The Sci Fi Channel’s Battlestar Galactica finally outed Lt. Felix Gaeta (Alessandro Juliani) as a gay man in a realtionship with Louis Hoshi (Brad Dryborough). Unfortunately, the only way you’d know this is if you either read the news here (and on a few other sites) or watched the BSG webisode series “The Face of the Enemy”. However, if like most of the show’s audience, you only watch the series on TV, you wouldn’t have a clue that Gaeta was now playing for our team.
But given the dearth of gay science fiction characters on American television, this is still good news for gay fans of the show, no?
That depends on whether you think having a television character come out on a webisode, only to never address his sexuality again on the show

trailer break: ‘Law & Order: UK’
added by newsBotI’ve been hearing about the expansion of the Law & Order franchise to London for a while now, and when I was there last week, I kept seeing this ad on ITV for the show. Somehow I had managed to not hear that both Jamie Bamber (from Battlestar Galactica, of course) and Freema Agyeman (from Doctor Who and Torchwood) were starring in the show until I saw the ad for the first time. (Plus: Bill Paterson as the Adam Schiff character? Perfect!) This is unlikely to air on American TV, so I’ll have to resort to alternative means to see it. Wish I didn’t have to, but there we are. Law and Order UK debuts in the U.K. on February 23 on ITV.

Battle-stud! Jamie Bamber Gets Nekkid for PETA
added by newsBotPETA has released a promotional piece featuring Battlestar Galactica hottie Jamie Bamber — nekkid from the obliques up — to shed light on the cruelty of black-bear hunting.
The ad simply reads, "Bare Skin, Not Bearskin."
Bamber's print PSA is part of PETA's campaign to persuade Queen Elizabeth to end the use of Canadian black bear fur for headwear worn by Buckingham Palace guards. The Battlestar hunk is a native of London and films the space-based show in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
Now doesn't this picture make you mad that Bamber's been stuck in a full-body flight suit for much of his four years on BSG? Oh, the injustice!
Begin your drooling, er, discussion after the jump.
