7 March 1959, Cullowhee, North Carolina, USA In the summer of 1996, Searcy produced, directed and acted in his first independent feature, Paradise Falls (1997). Searcy's other film credits include the blockbusters Nell (1994), The Fugitive (1993), Cast Away (2000), Head of State (2003), Runaway Jury (2003), and The Ugly Truth (2009). He broke onto the scene as the villain Frank Bennett in Universal's Fried Green Tomatoes (1991). Searcy is a veteran of several television series. He had a recurring role on ABC's "Thunder Alley" (1994) was a series regular on CBS' "American Gothic" (1995) UPN's "7 Days" (1998-2001) and ABC's "Rodney" (2004) (2004-2006) and has guest starred on "Boston Legal" (2004), "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (2000), and "The West Wing" (1999), among others. He has also starred in several movies-of-the-week, including In the Best of Families: Marriage, Pride & Madness (1994) (TV), Stolen Innocence (1995) (TV) all for CBS. Searcy was a series regular on HBO's "From the Earth to the Moon" (1998). Searcy's theatre credits include several Off-Broadway plays and regional/stock productions of "Guys and Dolls," "Cabaret" and "Jesus Christ Superstar." Searcy is married to the actress Leslie Riley and has 2 lovely children, one in college and one in the third grade.

First Look at Timothy Olyphant as 'Lawman'
added by newsBotA good three minutes sneak peek to FX Network's new series, "Lawman", is given during TV Critics Association press tour and the footage has gone online. The series starring Timothy Olyphant will only premiere in Spring 2010 but the buzz has been made in recent weeks following a 13-episode order from FX.
In "Lawman", Olyphant is modern day U.S. marshal named Ryalan Givens, a character based on Elomore Leonard's short story "Fire in the Hole". Givens enforces his brand of justice in a way that puts him as a target of criminals and places him at odds with his bosses in the marshal service. As a result, he's reassigned to the rural Kentucky town where he grew up.

Tony Elwood’s Cold Storage is a film that has been a long time in the making, written by Elwood in 1978, touched up in ’85, filmed a couple of years back and finally doing the festival circuit now, it’s very much his baby.
Kicking off with a break-up between young actress Melissa and her earnest, though simple, boyfriend Daric (Matt Keeslar), Melissa heads down South to take a part in a play. Unfortunately she hits a bird and is fatally injured in the process, attracting the attention of simple minded mountain man Clive (an astonishing turn by Nick Searcy). Clive sees that she’s still breathing and drives her back to his cabin, hoping to save her life, but she’s a goner and poor Clive just can’t seem to grasp this all important fact,

Opening July 24, the film follows a romantically challenged morning show producer (Heigl) who is reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous tests by her chauvinistic correspondent (Butler) to prove his theories on relationships and help her find love. Robert Luketic (21, Monster in Law) directed the film, which also stars Eric Winter, John Michael Higgins, Nick Searcy, Kevin Connolly and Cheryl Hines.
