24 June 1976, Phillipsburg, New Jersey, USA Sheetal, who was raised in a small New Jersey city, burst onto the scene with raves in her debut film role, playing the gutsy lead in ABCD (1999) - a risky and memorable role as a promiscuous young girl struggling with the ties of family and tradition. She discovered her passion for acting in high school and subsequently enrolled in the esteemed Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. After supplementing her education with a summer in Amsterdam as part of the intensive, international Theatre Workshop studying under renowned acting teachers like Kristin Linklater, she graduated with honors.Since then Sheetal has developed a reputation as a consummate professional with an unmatched work ethic and critical eye when choosing projects. She has starred in many feature films, including Wings of Hope (2001) for which she won the Best Actress Award at the Cinevue Film Festival, and American Chai (2001) which won the Audience Award at the Slamdance Film Festival and Best Film at the Philadelphia Festival. She broke out in Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World (2005) as the female lead Maya opposite Albert Brooks, winning the role after an extensive international casting search. Sheetal joined an ensemble, playing a high class call girl in The Trouble with Romance (2009).Sheetal's career is not limited to feature films - she loves theater and has also charmed with voice-overs, music videos, and TV.
