6 December 1963, Odense, Denmark Ulrich Thomsen graduated from The Danish National School of Theatre and Contemporary Dance in 1993, after which playing on several theaters in Copenhagen, i.e. Dr. Dantes Aveny, Mungo Park and Østre Gasværks Teater. His debut on film was in Ole Bornedal's Nattevagten (1994). Since then a number of roles in, among others, Thomas Vinterberg's De største helte (1996), Susanne Bier's Sekten (1997) and Anders Thomas Jensen's Blinkende lygter (2000) . However, the major breakthrough came in the film Festen (1998) by Thomas Vinterberg, playing the part as Christian, the son. This performance made him well known outside Denmark, earning him a bad guy role in the James Bond film The World Is Not Enough (1999)and a part in the English film Killing Me Softly (2002).

Three Fresh Clips of 'The International' Come Out

One called "It's About Control" came from MSN, another one titled "The Chase" was found through IGN, and the other one was an exclusive clip from MTV. All of the clips feature the thriller's leading man, Clive Owen, in his search for justice.
In "It's About Control", Owen and his co-star, Naomi Watts, are seen listening to a man's explanation about the real reason behind the attempt to make the world's greatest bank an exclusive broker for international arms dealing. Meanwhile, the "The Chase" clip displays the scene where the two actors run after a man and Watts ends up being hit by a car driven by the man they chased. The third clip from MTV previews the footage in which Owen walks out of a building and receives an alarming phone call.

"We Can't Wait" 2009 Preview

Who is "we" you ask? This year I did the anticipatory mindmeld with Whitney of Dear Jesus, Fox of Tractor Facts, Joe of Low Resolution and Ja of My New Plaid Pants to come up with the top 20. I am horrified to inform you that these so called "friends" did not help me place Stephen Frears Chéri on the list. The plentiful posts I've already done on the matter will have to be enough until its Berlinale premiere later this month. The other highest ranking "orphans" from my own personal list function as an accidental Natalie Portman Double Feature.
