TwitterCap: Stars Obsess Not Over Movie, But Hockey
added by newsBotWhile many of us are trying to forget all about the National Hockey League Playoffs (I'm a Tampa Bay Lightning fan, need I say more?), a bunch of the famous people we love to follow can't get enough of it. And for those who don't like the constant hockey Twittering? Their message is clear: Go somewhere else. So who likes what team? Why don't we let them tell you. "Good news, non-pucksters," writer and director Kevin Smith (@thatkevinsmith) wrote Sunday night. "Dinner with the family on a boat that goes around New York. 'The Secret of Nimh' Now Available on Hulu
added by newsBotThough not terribly profitable back in 1982, I was nonetheless stoked to see The Secret of Nimh is yours for the taking on Hulu. The film was Don Bluth's first as a director following his split from Disney, although he's become better known for other movies and the classic video game Dragon's Lair.
Nimh was kind of overrun in the summer of '82 by some alien that ate Reese's Pieces, and it didn't help that all the talk about Bluth's film centered on how it was too violent to be rated G. The shame of it is, Bluth made a pretty good film, and one that raised the bar for traditional animation at that time. And check out that all-star cast: Wil Wheaton, Derek Jacobi, Dom DeLuise, and Shannen Doherty.

Portland’s Rooftop Cinema Summer Schedule
added by newsBotThere is something insanely romantic about a movie on a city rooftop. And I’m not just talking taking a hold of your girl’s hand. It’s the night air, the hint nostalgia for drive-in movies, and hopefully stars in the sky as well as the screen.
Here is Portland’s schedule thanks to the Northwest Film Center …
The Northwest Film Center presents: Top Down: Rooftop Films July 16-August 27 This summer the Northwest Film Center’s Top Down rooftop cinema event is back for a fifth season. Warm starry nights in downtown Portland are filled with entertaining films, culinary treats, live music and spectacular city views, all atop the panoramic parking rooftop at the Hotel deLuxe (Sw 15th at Yamhill). The evenings begin at 8pm with local music and refreshments. Gracie’s Restaurant will offer easy-to-juggle meals, snacks and cocktails, and additional beverages will be available from Tazo and BridgePort Brewing.
