Zacharius Knight Galifianakis 1 October 1969, Wilkesboro, North Carolina, USA Originally from western North Carolina, Zach moved to New York City after failing his last college class by one point. Zach got his start performing his brand of humor in the back of a hamburger joint in Times Square. He now tours the country, performing in coffee shops and universities. When not performing stand-up, Zach spends time at his home in the mountains of his native North Carolina, where he hopes to open a writer's retreat on a completely self-sustained farm.

Tiff 2009 Picture Preview: 18 Films from 'Bad Lieutenant' to 'Young Victoria'

Any man with the high school drama teacher look that wears the signature Annie dress is amazing in my book. It looks like we'll be getting more Galifianakis as he is negotiating to appear in the Jay Roach directed, Dinner With Schmucks. The movie is basically about a pathetic guy who ruins the lives of anyone who spends any time with him. The cast so far consists of Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd, and Lucy Punch.... »

Zach Galifianakis Settles on Dinner for Schmucks
added by newsBotZach Galifianakis continues to look for challenging work since breaking out in the surprise summer hit The Hangover. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedian has just joined Jay Roach's upcoming comedy Dinner for Schmucks.
The story revolves around the most pathetic guy ever to be invited to another man's weekly dinner party. Galifianakis is set to play an assistant manager of a mattress store who is dating Steve Carell's ex-wife. Other cast members include Paul Rudd and Lucy Punch.
Dinner for Schmucks is scheduled to start shooting this fall for a July 2010 release date.
