The Naacp has announced it's 40th Annual Image Awards nominations. In the film category, Cadillac Records, The Secret Life of Bees, Miracle at St. Anna, Seven Pounds and Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys" have been nominated.
The TV network with the most nominations? ABC with 24 total!
The awards night will be televised on Fox, Feb. 12 from the Shrine Auditorium.

New York actress Susan Oliveras has been chosen to portray the world's most famous Latina explorer -- Dora the Explorer -- in the upcoming tour of Dora The Explorer Live! Search For The City Of Lost Toys, coming to the Providence Performing Arts Center from February 6 - 8, 2009. Dora The Explorer Live! Search For The City Of Lost Toys performance times are as follows: Friday, February 6, at 7P; Saturday, February 7 at 11A, 2P, & 5P; and Sunday, February 8 at 11A, 2P, & 5P. Ticket in all seating locations for the Friday, February 6 performance at 7P are all $21; prices for all other performances are $40, $28, $19, and $13-all ticket prices include a $3 per ticket restoration charge. Tickets may be purchased by visiting the Ppac Box Office at 220 Weybosset St. in downtown Providence, or by calling (401) 421-arts, Monday - Friday 10A - 5P and Saturday, 10A - 2P. Honoring the contribution of people of color in arts, NAACP Image Awards have handed out its trophies to variable TV shows like "Grey's Anatomy", "The Young and the Restless" and "American Idol". The biggest winner however, was "Tyler Perry's House of Payne" which scored Comedy Series, Actor, Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress altogether.
Apart from nabbing the Outstanding Drama Series, "Grey's Anatomy" also took home Outstanding Actress in Drama Series through Chandra Wilson. Its spin-off "Private Practice" meanwhile, grabbed the Supporting Actor in Drama Series through Taye Diggs.
Some winners are revealed before the live telecast by Fox on Thursday, February 12 from Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium. They are among others, Directing in a Drama Series for Ernest Dickerson in "Lincoln Heights", Directing in a Comedy Series for Kevin Sullivan in "30 Rock" and Writing in a Comedy Series for Erica D. Montolfo in "The Game".
