Fox Searchlight has acquired rights to the upcoming novel Breathers: A Zombie's Lament by S.G. Browne. Oscar winning scribe Diablo Cody (Juno) will produce. The zombie romantic comedy centers on a recently deceased Everyman and newly minted zombie who is having trouble adjusting to his new existence. Empire Online has a new image from McG’s Terminator Salvation, featuring Christian Bale as John Connor. It’s also the cover of the entertainment magazine’s latest issue. Melissa Leo, who earned a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her role in Frozen River, has joined the cast of the indie drama Betty Ann Waters alongside Hilary Swank, Minnie Driver and Sam Rockwell. Warner Bros. has acquired screen rights to The Lonely Dog, a limited-edition book of paintings done by Queenstown artist Ivan Clarke. The studio will turn the dog tale into a CG animated film. That Inside Man sequel is gaining more traction. When the subject was first broached, Universal went out and hired Russell Gerwitz to write a part two to his 2006 heist movie. But Spike Lee eventually went with Terry George (Hotel Rwanda), and since that update late last year, we haven't heard a whole lot that could be classified as concrete.

I don't know that this is concrete, either, but it sounds good. Clive Owen, doing the red carpet thing for Duplicity, told Cinema Blend that Inside Man 2 is basically an all systems go kind of deal.
"There's a script imminent, Spike's very keen to go, and we're waiting on the script," Owen said. "Hopefully, it'll happen."
