2009 BAFTA Rising Star Nominees Announced
added by newsBotBritish Academy of Film and Television Arts have revealed their shortlist for 2009 Orange Rising Star Award. Announced by 2008 winner Shia Labeouf at Academy Headquarters, the nominees consist of five international actors and actresses, they are Michael Cera, Rebecca Hall, Toby Kebbell, Noel Clarke and Michael Fassbender.
Michael Cera is known for his role in "Juno", "Superbad" and "Nick And Norah's Infinite Playlist", while Rebecca Hall made her breakthrough in "The Prestige" and has since starred in "Frost/Nixon" and "Vicky Cristina Barcelona". Toby Kebbell was seen in "Control" and "RocknRolla", Noel Clarke is known for "Kidulthood", and Michael Fassbender caught attention with his performance in "Hunger" and "Eden Lake".
Unlike other BAFTA winners, the recipient of this award will be determined through public voting via BAFTA. Aside from Labeouf, previous winners also include Eva Green and James McAvoy, who earned the kudo in 2007 and 2006 respectively.
