He-Man and Machete Land At Sony
added by newsBotWow, Sony has been busy as of late - they have acquired two fairly “hot” projects, the new live-action He-Man/Masters of the Universe movie, as well as the Robert Rodriguez faux-trailer-turned-full-length-feature, Machete.
Masters Of The Universe
It’s only been a couple of weeks since Screen Rant reported that the live-action Masters of the Universe had left Warner Bros. and shed producer Joel Silver. The reason for this was reportedly because of a disagreement between WB/Silver and toy makers Mattel, about the direction the film was going in.
However, fear not He-Man fans, as Variety is reporting that Sony is in the final stages of making a deal to produce the new Masters of the Universe, with Escape Artists shepherding the project. Sources close to the negotiations say that both Sony and Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch will soon start developing the project for »

Highest Paid Actors
added by newsBotAs you scrape together enough coins to score an .89 cent taco, rest assured your favorite actor is dining on crystal and Kobe beef. In the unfair world we live in, we pay strangers to entertain us more than teachers who shape us, but that is a completely different story. It is always interesting to find out how much actors make on one film; sometimes this information is made public while other times is it kept tight lipped. For example, in 2008 Harrison Ford made $65 million for Indiana Jones, Adam Sandler made $55 million, and on the low end Johnny Depp only earned $27 million. We are about to explore the top grossing actors in 2008 so in the words of Cuba Gooding Jr., "show me the money!" 2008 was an interesting year for the film industry and we got to see a lot of box office blasts as well as some not so popular box office bombs. »

How to Train Your Dragon Teaser Trailer
added by newsBotOf the past decade, the major animation studios have been constantly trying to “one-up” each other when it comes to releasing major CGI animated pictures. Obviously Pixar started the ball rolling with its ground-breaking movie Toy Story but it not long after that, DreamWorks got into the CG animation ring and threw a knockout punch with Shrek. Next on the DreamWorks agenda? How to Train Your Dragon in 3D.
Based on the book by the same name written by Cressida Cowell, the story follows the adventures of Hiccup the Viking boy who would be king and his quest to pass a rite of passage. To succeed he must find the fiercest dragon in all the land and bring it under his submission, kind of like breaking in a horse for a cowboy, I suppose. The first teaser for How to Train Your Dragon has hit YouTube but it’s a »

Teaser Trailer - 'How to Train Your Dragon'
added by newsBotDragon movies don't usually do well. I have a feeling things will be different with DreamWorks' 2010 3-D animated flick, How to Train Your Dragon, which features the voices of Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, and the ubiquitous Kristen Wiig.
There's a new teaser trailer that says Train Your Dragon is from the makers of Shrek, Madagascar, and Kung Fu Panda, but it's almost just as big a deal to say it's from the directors of Lilo & Stitch, Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders. Add it all up, and that's like spoonfeeding family audiences.
Not much to look at in the teaser, and it's especially ho-hum because it's being pushed as a 3-D flick and this is fairly low quality, but the movies going to do a couple hundred million bucks next spring, so it's better to be informed. »

Movie Trailer Bonanza!
added by newsBotTo top off yesterday’s release of the New Moon trailer, we’ve got a bunch of new trailers for your viewing pleasure.
First up is a glimpse at the Michael Jackson concert film This Is It, which seems to be capitalizing off the celebrity’s death to the fullest extent possible. It’s scheduled to be released at the end of October, and I guarantee you it will rake in a huge amount of dough on DVD.
Next is the teaser for Dreamworks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon, scheduled for release on March 26th, 2010. Dreamworks’ output has steadily improved since the beginning, so hopefully we have something on par with Kung Fu Panda here.
Finally, we have the Us trailer for Lars Von Trier’s Antichrist, starring Willem Dafoe. This film looks absolutely stunning, and I can’t wait to see it on October 23rd. I have »

Check This Out: First How to Train Your Dragon Teaser
added by newsBotLove dragons? Then this is for you! DreamWorks Animation's next is How to Train Your Dragon, due out next March. This is another original project from the animation studio that last brought us Monsters vs Aliens. I'll admit I'm actually quite excited to see this, which is very rare for DreamWorks, but I'm getting a sort of Kung Fu Panda vibe. I just hope it lives up to that. Okay so this isn't really a trailer. It's a very short, very low quality, very basic teaser for the movie. I sincerely hope this isn't what they used to first introduce people because it's not very good, especially considering we've already seen some early artwork. Enjoy? Watch the first trailer for How to Train Your Dragon: Paramount has requested that the trailer be removed. Sorry for the inconvenience! How to Train Your Dragon is the story of Hiccup, heir of Viking »

Rating: 4 out of 10
It is here, it is now, it’s at l’Etrange Festival, it’s the latest Kazuaki Kiriya movie.
Let’s weave a tale of succession, honor, valor, courteous love, and chivalry in the good old European terms. Let’s hear an epic tale, one where Robin Hood would avenge Arthur in a journey of high adventures while managing to catch a glimpse of Marian’s ankle while doing so. Let’s get that particular feeling of righteousness and good clearly in mind. Got it? You have that picture in your mind? Yes? Now add Ninjas to it.
The whole idea, associated with Kiriya's previous movie Casshern, left us panting and in dire need of sitting in the dark watching such incredible an tale while our retinas slowly get »

Warner Brothers Pulls Out Of He-Man’s Universe
added by newsBotBy the power of Grayskull I shall report some bad news that will tremble the universe of masters everywhere: Warner Brothers has dropped the He-Man franchise for good!!! I know, I know, it's some crazy news that will take some time to completely comprehend. Warner has told Mattel that they no longer wish to have the power and has therefore decided to drop the forthcoming Masters of the Universe which was going to be a more modern (and by that less '80s) version of the franchise than most people remember it as. The move from Warner was expected though since they recently decided to devote more of their time towards DC Comics and their respective properties, which meant that other projects of the same nature would most likely get dropped. Mattel, however, hasn't given up on the movie just yet and director John Stevenson (who directed the horrid animated »
