added by newsBotFango got the word that Magnolia Pictures has picked up the U.S. rights to Mutant Chronicles, the grisly sci-fi action-thriller based on the popular role-playing game. The film will be distributed under Magnolia’s genre-centric Magnet banner.
Mutant Chronicles will first appear as a video-on-demand title from Magnolia parent the Wagner/Cuban Company’s Ultra VOD service, premiering Friday, March 27. It’ll then receive limited theatrical release on April 24; as we reported here, the movie will have its broadcast premiere on the Sci Fi Channel later this spring.
