National Lampoon's Animal House

In 1981 director John Landis' An American Werewolf in London opened in theaters and amazed horror and comedy fans alike. Here was the guy that had just brought the world Animal House a couple of years before, one of the all-time top comedies, and his latest movie perfectly combined two seemingly widespread genres into a fusion of scares and laughs. To this day Rick Baker's Oscar-winning special effects showing us a complete werewolf transformation still rank among some of the best practical FX ever created for a film.

It's coming up to 30 years since the release of American Werewolf. Is the time ripe for a remake?
The horror news website Bloody Disgusting tells us that John Landis thinks it's time. The website has confirmed that Landis is in negotiations with Dimension Films to remake the classic horror film. "Perhaps someone will make a brilliant movie out of it," Landis told the site.
