X-Men director Bryan Singer to make Mayan doomsday series
added by newsBotBryan Singer is to make a six-hour TV miniseries inspired by Mayan mythology, it's been announced by Syfy.
Singer is to produce the project for the former Sci-Fi Channel with Andrew Deane and Keith Addis. The as-yet-untitled story will deal with the 2012 doomsday prophecies based on interpretations of the Mayan calendar.
Singer (pictured) previously collaborated with the channel in 2005 on The Triangle, a miniseries exploring the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle.
This latest project will be written by Michael Petroni (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Dawn Treader) and Michael Bond (Passengers).
The project's official synopsis is:"A thrilling action-adventure story blending scientific fact and myth with popular conspiracy theories centring on the Mayan calendar and what it predicts for mankind at its end date.

Lionsgate Will Kick-Ass
