added by newsBotFor the past fifteen years, Static-x has been delivering their crushing brand of industrial metal (self-dubbed "evil disco") to the masses. 1408 director exorcizes his Rite
added by newsBotVariety reports that Mikael Hafstrom (pictured below), who directed the Stephen King-based hit 1408, will next helm another supernatural thriller with a literary source. He’s been attached to Last Rite, a Contrafilm project to be produced by Beau Flynn, Tripp Vinson and Christy Fletcher.
The movie is based on the non-fiction book The Rite: The Making Of A Modern Exorcist by Matt Baglio, published this past month by Doubleday. It focuses on a seminary student who is selected to be part of a new exorcism course at a Vatican-affiliated university; in the process of confronting the devil’s influence, he realizes his true faith. The script is by Michael Petroni, whose credits include Queen Of The Damned and this May’s Sarah Michelle Gellar-starring DVD release Possession.
