You can bring a quirky romantic tale home on DVD and Blu-ray right before Christmas. All About Steve will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on December 22. The standard DVD will be priced at $29.98 Srp while the Bd disc will go for $39.99 Srp. The film stars Sandra Bullock, Bradley Cooper, Thomas Haden Church and Ken Jeong.
Golden Globe-nominee Sandra Bullock (The Proposal) and Bradley Cooper (The Hangover) star in this off-the-wall comedy about a blind date gone hilariously wrong. When eccentric, but lovable, Mary gets set up with Steve, a news channel cameraman, she falls hard. He does not. Mary decides to follow Steve on a cross-country hunt for breaking news and soon finds herself entangled in the story. But despite the media storm surrounding her, Mary may just discover her true place in the world... and the man of her dreams!

Acclaimed writer/directors Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck's new film It's Kind of a Funny Story, will begin production in New York City in early December and has confirmed casting for eight key roles. Focus Features holds worldwide rights to the project, which it is co-financing with Wayfare Entertainment. Focus CEO James Schamus made the announcement today.
Kevin Misher, who most recently produced Michael Mann's Public Enemies and Dito Montiel's Fighting, is producing It's Kind of a Funny Story through his Misher Films with Wayfare Entertainment's Ben Browning. Wayfare's Michael Maher and Peter Rawlinson are executive producers; the company is in pre-production on the 3-D underwater epic Sanctum, to be executive-produced by James Cameron.

2009 has been a tough year for standard-issue romantic comedies.  “The Proposal,” which in any other year would have been a decent entry in a tired genre, really looked simple next to genre-benders “500 Days of Summer” and “Paper Heart.”  The film is decent, for what it is.  People who like the “Sweet Home Alabama”s and “Maid in Manhattan”s of the world will feel right at home with this one.  But those select few should’ve caught the film in theaters; there’s no real reason to buy the DVD.  More after the jump.
