Twilight: New Moon: Volturi Fight and Cast Tour
added by newsBotWith less than a month remaining before the theatrical release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Summit Entertainment is stepping up their marketing efforts with a steady barrage of clips and images. Soon you’ll be able to arrange them end to end and watch the movie as a flip book before it’s even out.
The previous video was of the wolf pack shape shifting into furry frenemies, and the latest is a preview of vampire on vampire action in Italy.
Michael Sheen is front and center as Aro the leader of the Volturi, a vampire coven and self-appointed royal family. There’s also Kristen Stewart as Bella and a robed Robert Pattinson as Edward. He’s body-slammed by Felix played by Daniel Cudmore, the same actor who portrayed Colossus in X-Men: The Last Stand.

Kevin Smith Wants To Adapt An Untouched Comic
added by newsBotFrom Splash Page: Several months ago, "X-Men: The Last Stand" director Brett Ratner told MTV News that there are few characters left in comic books for him to adapt—and while that may be true for the eventual "Youngblood" filmmaker, it's certainly not true for Kevin Smith.
Smith, who recently made a colorful appeal for Jon Hamm to star as both Superman and Batman, declared that there is one comic book character that has yet to be tapped, one franchise that remains to be treated with the respect and dignity it deserves on the big screen—and one hero that wears a snug-fitting diaper.
"I think there's a brilliant, revisionist take to be done on 'Hot Stuff, the Little Devil,'" Smith told MTV News.

Kevin Smith's Dream Character: Hot Stuff, The Little Devil?!

Brett Ratner Offers Heated Response To 'X-Men: The Last Stand' Detractors
added by newsBotComic book fans that have a bone to pick with "X-Men: The Last Stand" director Brett Ratner might be in for a bit of a shock—the filmmaker has a bone to pick with them, too.
According to Digital Spy, Ratner took a last stand of his own against the various "comic book geeks" that have spoken out against his past work on the "X-Men" franchise. The director has an issue with the idea that he destroyed the Marvel property, particularly because the success of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" says otherwise.
"If I buried the franchise how the f--- did they make a 'Wolverine'?" Ratner argued. "I mean, that's ridiculous. And they're making three other f---ing 'X-Men' movies. Mine kept the franchise alive!"
But Ratner's tirade didn't end there, as the once-rumored "Conan" director declared that there's simply no way to satisfy the comic book community.

Brett Ratner Defends X-Men: The Last Stand
added by newsBotFans of the X-Men are familiar with the evolution of the trilogy: X-Men was good, X2: X-Men United was terrific, and X-Men: The Last Stand just plain sucked. Last Stand's director, Brett Ratner, has heard all the criticism and is sick of it.
You can't make these people happy. I'm kind of the anti-Christ to these comic book geeks. Every single person that wrote s**t went to see that movie multiple times because a movie doesn't gross $200 something million unless people go to see it more than once. Every single person who said, "I'm never seeing that movie," they were the first ones there.
Calling the fan base of your movie "geeks" isn't the most courteous of expressions, but his frustration is somewhat understandable since Last Stand did make $234 million in the U.S. alone and, ultimately, $460 million worldwide. It also cost $210 million to make, so it's not »

How to Not Make Spider-Man 4 A Total Mess
added by newsBotThe original Spider-Man (2002) film was released to rave reviews, garnering a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, and the sequel (2004) was even more critically acclaimed with an average of 94%. Now, the similarity between these two movies (besides the cast, setting, and name) is that each one only had one villain, allowing a great deal of focus on just him and Spider-Man. Now, the biggest difference between this incredibly popular sequel and the “threequel” was that the third movie had three villains. Oh, yeah, and the ratings were different, too. About 32% different. So, what was the cause of this? Is there simply a curse on these so-called “threequels” (like the 34% drop from x2 to X-Men: The Last Stand), possibly because “threequel” is such a stupid word? Or perhaps it’s because Sam Raimi packed as many villains as he could into a movie, which was easily the biggest complaint critics had regarding the movie. »

Ian McKellen Talks Hobbits And Mutants
added by newsBot…But not to us unfortunately! Sir Ian McKellen, Master of Magnetism and member of The Council of Elrond spoke to the lucky folks at Empire recently about the roles pertaining to my two geeky references – Magneto and Gandalf (the Grey).
First talking about The Hobbit, McKellen told the online mag that scripts would be handed out very soon, leading to more casting news from the film:
“The scripts for the two films will be delivered very soon,” he revealed. “Then they’ll be budgeted, and then they’ll be cast. And they’ll be going when they’ve always said they would be, which is next spring – March or April. Guillermo even told me at one point, ‘We’re going to film for 383 days.’ He’s got that artistic autism! Jackson’s the same; they’re very, very, very alike. They also very different, but they’ve so much in common. »

Ratner Confident That X-Men 3 Was Awesome. Us Geeks Just Don’t Get It!
added by newsBotBrett Ratner is a real man's man. King of the castle. Pure film gold. Or so he thinks. To the movie die hards, he's "that turd who fucked up the X-Men". To the rest of us, he's just a turd in general. Anyway, that's not what this post is about. No sir. En a recent talk with StarPulse about his various movies over the years, the Ratman defended X-Men: The Last Stand from the major fan backlash that the otherwise commercially succesfull film endured. When the Rat was asked if the comic book demographic were the hardest group to please, he had this to say: "Absolutely. Bryan Singer gave me the best advice when I was doing "X-Men 3," Bryan is a really good friend of mine. Bryan said, "Whatever you do, do not read the Internet." I'm like, "Why?" He's like, "First of all, they hated on me the whole »

'X-Men 4' and Bryan Singer? It could happen
added by newsBotBryan Singer may be coming back to the genre he helped kicked off. At the Pusan International Film Festival in South Korea, the X-Men director confirmed that he has had talks with 20th Century Fox about coming back to the series. “I’m still looking to possibly returning to the X-Men franchise. I’ve been talking to Fox about it,” Singer said.
Rumors of Singer’s looming attachment to either the youthful X-spin-off First Class or a sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine has been talked about and obsessed over for much of the summer. The director also went on to say that he loves Hugh Jackman and the X-cast. Could Singer be coming back for a X-Men 4?
According to Empire, producer Lauren Shuler Donner recently said that an X-Men 4 was a distinct possibility pending Singer’s attachment.
Singer left the X-Men series to direct Superman Returns which left X-Men: The Last Stand »

5 Movie Clips from Writer/Director Richard Kelly’s The Box
added by newsBotOpening next Friday is writer/director Richard Kelly’s “The Box”. The movie is set around a deceptively simple moral dilemma. An average couple is offered an opportunity to get themselves out of financial difficulty: a million dollars, in exchange for the knowledge that their acceptance of this gift will result in the death of one person somewhere in the world - someone they don’t know. The big question is, “What will they do?” But writer/director Richard Kelly is also asking, “What would you do?”
So to help promote the film, we’ve been provided with five clips from the movie. If you want to stay spoiler free, I strongly suggest not watching these clips. But if you’d like a taste of Richard Kelly’s next film, hit the jump and take a look.
Finally, hypothetically speaking…if I were to have seen “The Box”…I might »
