'Avatar,' Marvel Bathrooms, And Stan Lee In 'Thor' In Today's Twitter Report
added by newsBotStan Lee may be done with his "Iron Man 2" cameo, but "Thor" still awaits. He tweeted about his high expectations last night, including what it will take to get him to Asgard.
Meanwhile at the Marvel offices in New York, editor Axel Alonso posted a behind-the-scenes look at what you can expect to see in a bathroom there. After the jump, there's also Dennis Calero's design obervation about James Cameron's "Avatar," Edgar Wright's early memories of "Labyrinth" and Tony Harris on wrapping up "Ex Machina."
It's all in the Twitter Report for November 12, 2009.
@smilinstanlee Since many have asked, my Iron Man cameo is done and I'm waiting to do Thor. But I'n not goin' to Asgard unless they fly me first class!

Lady Deadpool: One Role Ryan Reynolds (Probably) Won't Play
added by newsBotRyan Reynolds might have played Deadpool in the "Wolverine" movie and the upcoming "Deadpool" solo film, but we're pretty sure there's one version of Marvel's mouthy mercenary he won't bring to the big screen (well, pretty sure, at least): Lady Deadpool.
In January's issue of "Deadpool: Merc With A Mouth," readers will be introduced to a different sort of Deadpool (quite a few of 'em, in fact), and Marvel's released a new cover to commemorate the merc's newfound, well... lady parts. The new cover was created by Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld, with an alternate cover (posted below) by "Marvel Zombies" cover artist Arthur Suydam.
According to Marvel, the issue will feature a one-shot story written by Victor Gischler that has Deadpool meeting alternate versions of himself. Will he find himself annoying? Will he make a pass at himself? These are the questions I want answered.

Shawn Levy Talks Plans For Hugh Jackman In Real Steel
added by newsBotHugh Jackman is currently arguing with Daniel Craig every night on Broadway in the play A Steady Rain, but he's not going to be going from there directly back to his Wolverine claws. In the meantime he's got his eye on Real Steel, a movie that has several crazy things going for it. 1) It is directed by Night at the Museum's Shawn Levy. 2) It is about robot boxing. 3) Its director is comparing it to Rocky. Yes, Levy is apparently fearless and is comparing Real Steel to the most famous boxing movie of all time. In an interview with Sci Fi Wire, Levy said, "It's faithful to the [original Richard Matheson] story in that that story was very much about a down-on-his-luck, slightly desperate journeyman who works in this robot boxing sport and who is desperately needing redemption and one last shot. The movie is more Rocky than Transformers." Levy also ... »

Joseph Gordon-Levitt on Uncertainty
added by newsBotJoseph Gordon-Levitt is simply one of the most exciting twentysomething actors working at the moment. Whether he's playing a moody hustler in Mysterious Skin, his breakout role, or a lovestruck boyfriend in this summer's absolute pleasure, 500 Days of Summer, his performances are all united by an authentic intelligence and actorly committment. It makes him a joy to watch on screen, even when he's unrecognizable (save for that excellent, resonant voice!) as Cobra Commander in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, or a goofy teenage alien in the long-running sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun. Who knows what will happen when he's in Christopher Nolan's next film, the hotly-anticipated Inception. In Gordon-Levitt's latest film, Uncertainty, directors Scott McGehee and David Siegel (The Deep End), have created an intriguing world for him and actress Lynn Collins (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), playing a couple called Bobby and Kate. They start their day on »

First Photo of Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva's Daughter
added by newsBotPicture of Mel Gibson's two lovely ladies, girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, and newborn daughter, Lucia Anne, has been released in the newest issue of Us Weekly magazine. The photo shows while Lucia is sleeping, her tiny left hand is holding Oksana's index finger.
On October 30, Oksana gave birth to her first baby with Mel at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles. After giving birth, Oksana told Britain's Hello magazine, "She was almost a month early. I was at home and then I got rushed to hospital, and then eight hours later. I could look at her beautiful face." She continued, "It was fairly straight forward, as birth go. It happened very quickly."
Mel missed the birth of Lucia since he was filming in New York. Oksana explained, "He [Gibson] came a few hours later because he had to fly from New York ... he is ecstatic. He is in love with her already. »

'Clash Of The Titans' Teaser Trailer (Insert Comic Book Connection Here)
added by newsBotOkay, so the upcoming remake of "Clash of the Titans" isn't a comic book movie. I could try to make all sorts of connections between the film's cast (Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Danny Huston, etc.) and comic book movies ("Green Lantern," "Batman Begins," "Wolverine"), but let's be honest here: it looks really freakin' cool and that's why I'm posting it here. Enjoy.
Giant scorpions, Medusa, "300"-style brawls and Liam Neeson as Zeus. I'm sold.
If you like what you see (and even if you don't), be sure to check out the Freeze Frame "Clash of the Titans" commentary on MoviesBlog.MTV.com, too. »

First New ‘Clash of the Titans’ Trailer Hits The Web
added by newsBotOn what started off as a slow news week, we already have the premiere of two brand new trailers today, the first of which being a brand new trailer of Louis Leterrier’s remake of the 1981 classic, Clash of the Titans.
Though the original is considered sacred by some (and schlock by others), the newest trailer looks to legitimize the story even more. Conceptually, this is the proportionate size that this film should have been, and technology is finally at a place where a director like Leterrier can pull it off.
The film stars Sam Worthington, Gemma Aterton, and some of the coolest casting decisions for Greek gods ever seen. In no particular order, Liam Neeson is stepping in a Zeus, Ralph Fiennes is playing Hades, and Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) will be playing Poseidon.
Check out the first full trailer after the jump, and try not to hold »

Twilight sucks up People's Choice award nominations
added by newsBotVampire love affair leads race for public's votes with six nods
It's unlikely to figure at next year's Oscars, but the Twilight Saga films, based on Stephenie Meyers's books about a teenage girl who falls in love with a vampire, look set to triumph where it really counts. The franchise leads the nominations for the 2010 People's Choice awards, with six nods.
Twilight is up for best actor, in the form of Robert Pattinson, who lines up alongside Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman, Johnny Depp and Ryan Reynolds. The film also gets a nod in the best actress (for Kristen Stewart), onscreen team, breakout actor (Taylor Lautner), movie franchise and favourite movie categories.
Star Trek, this summer's successful reinvention of the science fiction franchise, is in joint second spot with four nominations, including two for breakout actor for the new Kirk and Spock, Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto. X-Men Origins: Wolverine, thecritically-panned »

Goyer Wants Magneto On The Back Burner
added by newsBotI could write an essay on everything that was wrong with X-Men Origins: Wolverine. As a comic book film, it ranks somewhere between the never-meant-to-be-released Fantastic Four movie from 1994 and the straight-to-video Captain America movie from 1990. There was simply nothing there to enjoy. That opinion solidified, the entire time the Wolverine origin was being punted around, a Magneto back story was also in the works, but it now seems that it will be a few more years before we can facepalm while attending another X-Men related disaster. In an interview with MTV, writer David Goyer (who ranges from Batman Begins to Jumper) has backed recent statements by producer Lauren Shuler Donner, saying that Fox is a bit confused where to go with the franchise, and that the project should be placed on the back burner. Goyer also seemed to give the impression that he no longer cares much about the »

X-Men: The Last Stand: What Could Have Been
added by newsBotBrett Ratner is tired of defending his directorial work in X-Men: The Last Stand, but fans continue to wonder what might have been if Bryan Singer had finished his X-Men trilogy, instead of defecting to Superman Returns. Michael Dougherty, the screenwriter for X2: X-Men United who joined Singer's defection, explained his ideas for X3 to Slashfilm in a recent podcast (transcribed by TheGeekFiles).
You found out was that Phoenix [(Famke Janssen)] was going round the world taking things into her own hands and that she had basically returned as a god, which they did in X3. She had viewed herself as above the conflict, that she was here to end things on her terms, she was sick of the fighting and she was going to take things into her own hands and she did not give a s**t what the X-Men or the Brotherhood had to say about it.
And ultimately »
