Roger Friedman sues Fox over his early Wolverine review
added by newsBotIn April online Fox News journalist Roger Friedman reviewed the leaked copy of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, triggering a series of events that led to his dismissal from the company. Now Friedman has filed a lawsuit against his former employer citing the company smeared his reputation and wrongly let him go.
Friedman's suit asks for $5 million dollars in damages plus $180,000 in legal fees.
In Friedman's side of the story he claims that he asked Fox News' legal department to vet the review for publication and that he never back from them nor from his editors about not writing his infamous review. Friedman's review of Wolverine went online April 2. On April 3 the story was removed from the Fox News website. Friedman claims that he asked his editor if he should be concerned about his job and supposedly was told that there was nothing to worry about. The next day Friedman was fired from Fox.

Just like the Wimbledon match between Federer and Roddick, we needed a little extra time to figure out the box office winner this weekend.
Transformers: The Revenge of the Fallen squeaked out a victory over the 3D family flick Ice Age. But this weekend is more about the comedy The Hangover. It passed $200 million and has now out-performed what looked like sure blockbuster smash hits in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian and Terminator Salvation.
Now the question becomes … is Bruno a big enough boy to knock off the robots in disguise?

Deadpool breaks wall
added by newsBotRyan Reynolds has been talking up the upcoming comic adapted Deadpool spin-off ever since the release of X-men Origins: Wolverine, where he played the infamous Merc with a Mouth for a whole of two scenes. He's mostly been making reassuring statements saying that the filmmakers intend to do the character justice by making him the darkly comedic assassin we know and love from the comics. Which is, of course, typical movie star bullshit who intends to sell a movie in the future. His most recent...

Deadpool Wins Fan Poll For Next X-Men Movie
added by newsBotThe fans have spoken... to MTV anyway. A poll released last week asked which X-Men-related movie fans wanted to see next: X-Men Origins: Magneto, Wolverine 2, Deadpool, or X-Men: First Class. The results are in and the winner is (should be no surprise if you read the title of this piece): Deadpool, with 32% of the unspecified amount of votes!
Wolverine 2 came in second, with First Class and Magento finishing third and fourth, respectively. Ironically, X-Men Origins: Wolverine seems to set up First Class as the next movie, with Cyclops (Tim Pocock) meeting up with a group of young mutants at the end. Deadpool, a spin-off starring Ryan Reynolds, seems the more difficult movie to fit into continuity considering that Deadpool ends up in, well, not to give anything away, so let's just say...he has his head chopped off and falls down a nuclear silo. Hope that didn't spoil anything.

‘Deadpool’ To Break Fourth Wall In Solo Movie, Says Ryan Reynolds
added by newsBotEven if “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” wasn’t your cup of tea, there’s no denying that Splash Page readers want to see “Deadpool.”
Actor Ryan Reynolds is right there with you, folks — and he’s already doing his best to promote the as-yet-filmed spin-off.
While promoting “The Proposal,” the actor spoke about “Deadpool” with Empire, reemphasizing what he’s already said in the past — and that “Deadpool” will indeed talk to his audience in his solo film.
“Break the Fourth Wall? Oh yeah, he’s got to,” he told Empire. “I want to see him break the Great Wall.”
It’s hard to tell if Reynolds is being sarcastic like his on-screen persona, or if he’s serious — after all, part of the Deadpool mythos involves inane, ludicrous and seemingly impossible plot points. Having the scarred-up mutant face off against the Great Wall of China would certainly fit that bill.

Twilight New Moon Premiere Headed Inland
added by newsBotLike Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine premiere in Tempe, Arizona earlier this year, Summit Entertainment's The Twilight Saga: New Moon will not premiere in Los Angeles or New York. Knoxville.com has confirmed with Regal Entertainment Group that New Moon will premiere in Knoxville, Tennessee at Regal Cinemas' Pinnacle 18 at Turkey Creek ahead of its November 20 release date. Final details are still being ironed out so the guest list, which promoters surely hope will include Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner at minimum, is still up in the air. Another key detail, the exact date, is also in discussions. Why Knoxville, Tennessee? Regal holds one big premiere per year there with the proceeds benefiting Variety - The Children's Charity of Eastern Tennessee. Last year's Journey to the Center of the Earth premiere with Brendan Frasier netted them a record $300,000 in ticket sales and endorsements. I'll go out on a

Reynolds stated, "Break the fourth wall? Oh yeah, he's got to. I want to see him break the Great Wall." He says that the film will stick pretty close to the comic book upon which it is based, saying, "The studio's working on a script and trying to find a director. The main goal is to make sure it stays close to the source material." Is he worried about fan reaction to the film? "I'm one of them. I've always been a fan, at least for the last eight or nine years. I feel a bit of validation because I knew going into Wolverine that there's a huge fanbase for
