You Don't Mess with the Zohan

Emmanuelle Chriqui, who starred opposite Adam Sandler in You Don't Mess with the Zohan, is joining the cast of Gela Babluani's 13, a remake of his French thriller 13 Tzameti. The actress joins the previously cast Sam Riley, Jason Statham, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Ray Liotta, David Zayas, Ray Winstone and Mickey Rourke The 2005 original was the feature directorial debut of Babluani. It centered on a destitute immigrant worker who steals an envelope containing instructions for a mysterious job that could pay out a fortune. Following the instructions, the young man unwittingly becomes trapped in a dark and dangerous situation. The remake centers on a young man who is forced to participate in a high-stakes game of Russian Roulette where wealthy gamblers bet on human lives. 13 will hit theaters in 2010.

Kevin James, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider and David Spade are in negotiations to star in an untitled comedy for Columbia Pictures, report the trades. Frequent Sandler collaborator Dennis Dugan (You Don't Mess With the Zohan, Happy Gilmore) is attached to direct. The high-concept story is a comedy about five best friends from high school who reunite 30 years later on a Fourth of July weekend. Sandler penned the screenplay with Fred Wolf (Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star). The five actors have worked together on a number of comedies, though never all on the same project. Sandler and James most recently starred as the title characters in "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry." Schneider co-starred in Zohan, while Rock and James made cameo appearances in the film.
