Zack and Miri Make a Porno

I just came across the new poster for Whatever Works on Imp Awards (check it by clicking the image below), and beyond the too-perfect Larry David pose, I'm struck by the utter lack of Woody Allen on the thing. Beyond the billing block and maybe an especially sharp sense of font, how would anyone know that this was the latest film from the guy who made Annie Hall and Manhattan?
It was the same thing with Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and I'm wondering if potentially interested people would find themselves turned off upon finding out just whose movie they've been lured into. It's the same sense of un-branding (non-branding? anti-branding?) that kept most passersby from realizing that Zack and Miri Make a Porno was a Kevin Smith joint, and really, if you're already past that title, is his presence in the trailers and posters going to keep you away?

Dead Of Night is the follow-up Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) has majorly been needing. Even though he has seven other projects in production, I have only seen him in Zack and Miri Make a Porno since wearing the red S. In Dead Of Night, Routh plays supernatural detective Dylan Dog, based on the Tiziani Sclavi horror comic series of the same name. Sam Huntington will play the role of Dylan Dog's zombie side-kick Marcus. The rest of the cast includes Taye Diggs, Peter Stormare, Anita Briem and Kurt Angle. Dom DeLuise, the iconic character actor, died this week at the age of 75.  Whilst perusing his many obituaries, I was struck by Reuters opening paragraph:  "Dom DeLuise, the U.S. comic actor who gained fame on television and in movies such as "Blazing Saddles" and "Smokey and the Bandit II," has died..."  The first is a comic classic, but the latter? DeLuise was never an A-Lister, but the man was in four Mel Brooks comedies including the revered "History of the World, part 1."  He was also in both "The Cannonball Run" movies, silly yet high profile car chase comedies(the first being more revered than the second). "...He gained widespread fame on the Dean Martin Show as "Dominick the Great," a magician whose act routinely went wrong."  It seems really random to put "Smokey 2" in the first line of someone's obit, when you have several more high profile and influential projects to choose from.
