And the new character on The Simpsons is ...
added by newsBotRecently, to celebrate the show's 20th season, there was a contest to create a new character for The Simpsons. Well, the winner has been announced as Peggy Black of Orange, Conn., and the character is Ricardo Bomba, who is quite the ladies' man.
While the concept of a womanizing male character has been done on The Simpsons before (Life on the Fast Lane, anyone?), it hasn't been done with any regularity. This could be the case of The Simpsons stealing from the Family Guy character of Glenn Quagmire (although likely with more taste). However, the concept of the ladies' man has been around since Casanova himself so I don't think it actually qualifies as a theft.
With a show like The Simpsons, it's always tough to find new concepts and new characters. The popular theory is that television ideas can be recycled every seven years, but The Simpsons has been around for twenty. »

Hilary Duff gets bratty in 'According to Greta'
added by newsBotHilary Duff’s new film According to Greta hits theaters on Dec. 11 and EW has an exclusive look at the trailer. She plays troubled 17-year-old Greta, who is forced by her mom (Melissa Leo) to spend the summer with her elderly grandparents (Ellen Burstyn and Michael Murphy) in a Jersey Shore town. But Greta has a summer romance -- with a busboy (Evan Ross) -- that cheers her up, even if her grandparents don't approve. Maybe this bratty/mopey role (shot in 2007) would seem more shocking had we not recently witnessed Duff involved in a threesome on Gossip Girl. Still, »

Leighton Meester on the Cover of British Glamour
added by newsBotWhat's the difference between Leighton Meester and and her Gossip Girl alter ego, Blair Waldorf's style? Freedom! Something we definitely caught a glimpse of during Meester's performance at the American Eagle flagship opening earlier this week. We digress. She's actually Wild Things, rolled in bed chic on the cover of December's issue of British Glamour. Inside she revealed she thinks Blair could "let loose a bit." Can't say we disagree. We love the Queen's reigning duds but sometimes straight-laced perfection is boring. However, Meester credits Blair for her current, dare-to-try-anything know how, and good or bad, we're thankful for that. »

Gossip Girl Episode Stills: "Treasure of Serena Madre"
added by newsBotBelow are some stills from the next episode of Gossip Girl, "Treasure of Serena Madre," which airs November 30. No new episode this coming Monday, Upper East Siders.
It's Thanksgiving in New York, and this being Gossip Girl, it's not weird at all that Serena ends up having dinner with her friend's married cousin who she's sleeping with.
Will her affair with Tripp come to light? Will Dan and Vanessa hook up minus Olivia this time? Could Chuck and Blair possibly be any cuter? We'll have to wait and see.
In the meantime, click to enlarge these Gossip Girl pics ...

"I sent him a couple of my songs," the 23-year-old recalled how she successfully recruited the multiple Grammy-winning artist to make a duet with her when met by MTV News before performing at the new American Eagle store in Time Square on November 17. "He's been diggin' on them for a while. Then he heard ['Make It Rain'], and he was like, 'All right, I'm gonna kill it!'"
Unlike some other artists who record their duet tracks separately, Meester and Weezy chose to hit studio together. "It was like, literally, 4 o'clock in the morning. He was so sick - he didn't even write anything down. »
