Ice Age ties with Transformers at the box office

Box office forecasts for the Independence Day weekend have Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen tied with each film taking in $42.5 million dollars each. The third Ice Age opened on Wednesday and its five-day total now stands at $67.5 million dollars while the Transformers sequel has taken in $293 million dollars in 12 days.
Universal's Public Enemies debuted in third place with $26.1m bringing its five-day cume to $41m -- a decent opening for a movie that's earned mixed reviews.
In its third weekend out The Proposal is still doing solid box office, adding an additional $12.7m to its run to land in fourth spot. The Sandra Bullock/Ryan Reynolds romantic comedy now stands with a $94 million dollar run.
