Kurt Russell Eyes 'Red Dawn' Remake
added by newsBotMGM is taking a fresh look at some of its 1980s fare, bringing RoboCop, Poltergeist, and Red Dawn back to theaters in the next couple of years. RoboCop may be pushed back a tad because of director Darren Aronofsky's schedule and i>Poltergeist hasn't made any major announcements yet, which leave Red Dawn as the first movie of the three that could reach theaters.
Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton) was recently hired to take on the script, and now there's word that Kurt Russell is in talks to star in the film, opposite the new Thor, Chris Hemsworth from Star Trek. There's no exact information on what character Russell would play, although we do hear that the remake only uses the foundation of the first film.
That makes sense, otherwise you wouldn't need an Oscar nominated screenwriter to punch it up. Plus, the political environment has changed so much in
