View-Master, The Movie...?
added by newsBotThey say truth is stranger than fiction, and indeed, whomever "they" are, their axiom certainly holds true in the case of this next story. It seems Fringe co-producer/writer Brad Caleb Kane intends to write a movie based on the ubiquitous View-Master toy, which first appeared on the market in 1939.
Kane announced on his Twitter account that after he's done penning the sci-fi action-adventure Uprising for director Wolfgang Petersen and Columbia Pictures, he will take on the View-Master project for DreamWorks Pictures.
According to Kane, the studio has already signed Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Transformers) to produce. Apparently the plot will be "like the old 80's Amblin movies: Goonies, Young Sherlock... In that vein."
