Yet another Poe Raven flying to the screen
added by newsBotVariety reports that the newly formed production division of movie sales outfit FilmNation will launch with The Raven, the latest feature inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe. FilmNation will co-produce with Endgame Entertainment.
The latest of several features to take the name of the famous Poe-m, this Raven (scripted by Hannah Shakespeare, a TV writer and story editor on shows including Ghost Whisperer and the new Bionic Woman, and Ben Livingston) takes no narrative cues from it. Rather, it’s a period thriller in which the author, in the last days of his life, becomes embroiled in the hunt for a serial killer. FilmNation production topper Aaron Ryder had originally developed the project at Endgame before the two companies merged; no director or cast for The Raven have yet been signed.

Poe's Raven Flies Again

Scripted by Ben Livingston and Bionic Woman 's Hannah Shakespeare, the story has nothing to do with Edgar Allan Poe's narrative. Instead, it picks up in the final days of the author's life and finds him being drawn into a serial killer investigation. The Raven is being overseen by FilmNation's Aaron Ryder whose credits include Donnie Darko , Memento , Monster and The Prestige . Quite an impressive resume.
