The Olympic Hiatus – When Will Your Favorite Shows Return?
added by newsBotThis weekend I was grumbling on the phone to my sister. "How dare they interrupt my favorite shows like Supernatural for the Olympics!" I cried, "Who the hell even watches the Olympics?!" "Uh…like 3 billion people" she replied. Needless to say, we're now in a fight, because I hate it when she's right.
Oblivious to my personal family drama, the Olympics will be interrupting some of my – and your – favorite shows. So I've put together a list for you below of which shows are expected to take a break for a few weeks (or, in the case of The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural, many weeks).
I've also provided a run-down of return dates for some shows like V or Gossip Girl who have been off the air since the end of 2009. Finally, I've included the season or series premiere dates for shows like The Tudors or United States of Tara. »

'American Idol' pulls 25 million viewers

However, the second instalment of Hollywood Week was down five per cent from the equivalent episode last year. Elsewhere in the 9pm hour, ABC's half hour screening of Modern Family took 10.11m, followed by Cougar Town which brought in 6.66m. Meanwhile, Criminal Minds fetched 14.77m for CBS.
