Linda Hunt joins "NCIS: Los Angeles"
added by newsBotIf you’ve never watched The Year of Living Dangerously, add it to Netflix. It’s a beautiful and touching movie, with wonderful performances by Sigourney Weaver and Mel Gibson (when he was still a pretty face instead of an ugly mouth). But no character was played as brilliantly as photographer Billy Kwan.
Linda Hunt won an Oscar for the performance. I wasn’t familiar with Hunt at the time and honestly was amazed that Billy was played by a woman. With the award, Hunt became the first actor to win an Academy Award for portraying a member of the opposite sex.
Hunt has been a staple in Hollywood ever since — who could forget her as Alice B. Toklas in Waiting for the Moon?
In recent years, Hunt has shown up more often on television than film, most memorably as the voice of Management in Carnivàle and as Judge Hiller on The Practice.

Prison Break Vet Joins Heroes
added by newsBotRobert Knepper, best known for portraying the colorful villain T-Bag on Fox’s Prison Break, has joined the cast of NBC’s Heroes. The actor will once again play a baddie on the series’ upcoming fourth season. In at least six episodes of the season, Knepper will play Samuel, a Jim Jones type -- charismatic but evil, with a twisted sense of humor -- who will veer into the lives of all heroes. The character had been referred to as "Carnival Barker" in the series breakdown released last month. Heroes is slated to return in the fall for a Lost-style all-original run in a new time slot at 8 p.m. on Mondays. The sci-fi drama -- which enjoys a strong online following -- will share its time period with another fan favorite, Chuck, which will take over in midseason. Production on the new season is scheduled to begin later this week.
