Eddie Winslow Cast on The Young and the Restless

Too busy on Criminal Minds, Shemar Moore will not be reprising the role of Malcolm Winters.
But the character is making a comeback on the top-rated soap opera, as Entertainment Weekly reports Darius McCrary has signed on for the role.
Best known as Eddie Winslow from long-running ABC sitcom Family Matters, McCrary debuts on December 29.
“We are thrilled to have the character of Malcolm back on Y&R,” said Maria Bell, the drama’s co-executive producer/head writer, in a statement. “Malcolm, Neil Winters’ brother, has always been a catalyst to exciting stories. He’s coming back to town to see his brother and to reunite with his biological daughter, Lily Winters, as she fights for her life. Malcolm is a photographer... someone who lives on the edge and who always pushes the envelope. »

Family Matters meets The Young and the Restless ... casting wise
added by newsBotIt's taken a while, but The Young and the Restless has finally filled a role that's been vacant for too long. No, David Hasselhoff is not coming back as Snapper Foster. The role of Malcolm Winters is returning and Darius McCrary's got the Y&R role. Malcolm, the dynamic younger brother of Neil Winters, has been missing in action for a while because the previous actor in the part, Shemar Moore, has become a star in primetime.
The Winters family is an important element in the Y&R canvas and they've missed Malcolm. Shemar was asked to come back, but with his success on Criminal Minds, there simply wasn't time in his schedule for both shows. Truth be told, there probably wasn't enough money to compel him to work that hard. So,while the fans might have liked Shemar back, they'll have to get used to a new face instead. »
