Joey decides to help throw a suprise birthday party for Pacey with his mother, not knowing about Pacey's 'birthday curse'. The party goes haywire as Pacey's family makes everyone feel uncomfortable, and Pacey a loser. Dawson becomes upset when he feels that Gretchen doesn't want anyone to know about their relationship and postpones their first real date to go to the party. Dawson, however, attends the party with Gretchen and Pacey and Joey walk in on Dawson and Gretchen in a serious kiss.

I'm always amazed at how many seasons Jag lasted. It started on NBC in 1995 then went to CBS, and I really thought it was the type of show that wouldn't last beyond three seasons, but it lasted ten! I thought the same thing about NCIS, and look at what happened there too. Obviously I don't do well predicting how shows with all caps in their titles will do.
