Cate Blanchett To Appear On A Special Series Of Australian Postage Stamps

In a statement, Cate said: "I am utterly, deeply, humbled and chuffed by the fact that I'm a stamp. I'm going to be licked by millions of Australians and I can't wait."
"It is also recognizing the value of the arts in Australia. It brings it into general consumption and if I'm part of that, I feel intensely proud."
Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe and Geoffrey Rush will also feature on the Australian Legends stamps, which will include pictures of the actors in and out of character, including Nicole from "Moulin Rouge," Cate from "Elizabeth," Russell from "Gladiator" and Geoffrey from "Shine."

Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett Honored With Stamps
added by newsBotAustralian Oscar-winning actresses Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett are about to be honored by Australian Postal Service, having their famous faces featured on a postage stamp. Beside them, the country will also bestow actors Russell Crowe and Geoffrey Rush with the same honor.
The foursome will be all featured on stamps, to be resealed as part of Australia Day on January 26, in characters and as themselves. Their characters which will be used for the stamps are taken from the films they won Oscars for; Nicole in "Moulin Rouge" (2001), Cate in "Elizabeth" (1998), Geoffrey in "Shine" (1996), and Russell in "Gladiator" (2000).
"These four outstanding Australians have captured the imagination of millions of people in Australia and around the world with their award-winning performances," Sydney Morning Herald quotes Australia Post managing director Graeme John as stating.
Nicole, Cate, Russell, and Geoffrey's stamps, which will be eight in total, will be sold for 55 Australian cents.
