Irish comedy sensation Ardal O'Hanlon, star of Channel 4's hit Britcom "Father Ted," returns to NY for a two-night engagement at the Irish Arts Center as part of March Madness, a month-long celebration of Irish arts and culture. Ardal O'Hanlon Live performs on Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7 at 8 Pm. Performances take place at the Donaghy Theatre at the Irish Arts Center (553 West 51st Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues).

Make a note in your calendars – next year’s Oscars has moved back a week, to March 7, 2010.The reason for the move – the ceremony usually takes place on the last Sunday in February – seems to have been because of a scheduling clash with the Winter Olympics, which take place next Feb in snowy Vancouver.Apparently, despite the fact that Winter Olympics are even more boring than that priest with the really boring voice in the Father Ted Christmas special, it somehow is a ratings winner in the States, with millions tuning in to watch riveting sports like the Overweight People Inexplicably Pushing Bits Of Round Stone Down An Icy Rink With Brooms and the 4x400m Snowman Relay.The Winter Olympics airs on NBC. The Oscars airs on ABC. It seems that something had to give, and the Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences decided to move the ceremony back

Irish feature 'Wide Open Spaces', penned by Arthur Mathews (Father Ted) and directed by Tom Hall (Bachelors Walk), will receive its World Premiere screening at the Edinburgh International Film Festival taking place from June 17 – 28. The film has been selected to screen in the Rosebud discovery strand of the Scottish festival which features “first and second works from the directors to watch". 'Wide Open Spaces', a belated coming of age comedy set in a remote part of Ireland, stars Ewen Bremner (Fool's Gold), Ardal O'Hanlon (Father Ted) and Owen Roe (Alarm).
