Glass Eye Pix update #1: James Felix McKenney’s Hypothermia
added by newsBotLarry Fessenden, the modern Roger Corman of the New York area filmmaking scene, visited our East Coast Weekend of Horrors recently with a bunch of the directors whose flicks he’s backing via his Glass Eye Pix company. Fango spoke to them behind the scenes to get the scoop on a trio of upcoming co-productions between Glass Eye and Mpi Media Group; we start with Hypothermia, a creature feature from James Felix McKenney, the man behind The Off Season, Automatons and the upcoming Satan Hates You (which we recently premiered the new trailer for here).
McKenney’s wearing a Creature from the Black Lagoon belt buckle when he visits the convention, and tells us, “Hypothermia is very much inspired by Creature, one of my favorite movies of all time—I’m obsessed with it. People are constantly re-exploring werewolves, vampires, the Frankenstein story—but, you know, the Creature’s the Creature.

Sorority Row Rated... R?!
added by newsBotA lot of people have been speculating that Sorority Row (a remake of House On Sorority Row) would be getting a PG-13 upon it's release. Well, back when the first report came out last year, director Stewart Hendler was pretty open about the intended rating. Here's a quote from last year's article from Hendler: "The good news is that three days ago, Summit changed their minds and we are full-steam ahead on the R-rated version. I can’t tell you what a relief this is from a creative sense. As I’ve mentioned before, we’re not out to make torture porn and this still isn’t going to be an explicit exploitation picture—but it's nice to be able to write a horror movie the way it should be."
Now, "Joey", a source close to the production wrote to several outlets that, "[Name witheld is] sick of everyone thinking it's PG-13.... so

American Psycho Helmer Adapting Diaries
added by newsBotMary Harron, who tackled the controversial novel American Psycho in 2000, is up to adapt author Rachel Klein's debut novel "The Moth Diaries." Published in 2002, Klein's story is set against the backdrop of a girls' boarding school where a 16-year-old named Lucy suspects her roommate is a vampire. But, through this tale, there is a growing question of what is reality and what is merely stemming from Lucy's warped fantasies? Karen Walton ( Ginger Snaps ) reportedly drafted an adaptation, but it's unknown if she's still on board. If she is, this could be a film to keep an eye out for.
