Talk Time: Andrew Hewitt on Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
added by newsBotGarth Marenghi's Darkplace is the British cult television show which didn't do too well in its initial run but by now became an instantly quotable phenomenon… Horror author / dream weaver Garth Marenghi (Matthew Holness) is the only writer on Earth who happily confesses that he wrote more books than he read. Together with the financial support of producer Dean Lerner (Richard Ayoade), he managed to create a series in the 1980s entitled Darkplace which was pulled because it was considered to be too radical for the screen. Now the show is resurrected from its eternal slumber, lovingly restored with each episode receiving a new introduction by Marenghi himself, who also contributes new interview footage for the show.
This hilarious spoof of the 80s series takes its inspiration from a wide range of sources that include The A-Team and the era’s nostalgic hospital shows. The music plays an important part

Absurd Potty Humor & Canadian Wit are ‘Inside Steve’s Mind’
added by newsBotOmg! Is Steve getting all Mr. Hankey with his excrement? Yes. He is. And that’s just one of many reasons why children - despite their love of Mr. Hankey - are not allowed inside the absurd, disgusting, hilariously Canadian place that is Inside Steve’s Mind. The five-part online series is literally full of potty humour and off-color jokes about Yalies, politicians, girlfriends and Hollywood. From the opening moments of the first episode I giggled uncontrollably for nearly five minutes. Then I almost threw up. Steve Markle, the writer and director of Steve’s Mind, is a test subject in an exploration of dreams conducted by voice overed Dr. Frank Yakasuki. Strapped to a large brain-reading contraption - the DreamExtractor2000 - Steve’s nocturnal reveries are recorded and then flushed out onto video for all to see. The disturbing results reveal a gentle yet lustful, passionate man tormented by fear of loss.

[TV] [Adult Swim] Continues It's British Invasion with "The Mighty Boosh"
added by newsBotIf you watch [Adult Swim] as much as I do, than you have noticed over the past year or so the huge influx of British humor in the way of BBC television. With Look Around You and Garth Marenghi's Darkplace already in [Adult Swim]'s line-up they have added another show that is, simply put, a humor powerhouse. It is a British mega hit known simply as The Mighty Boosh. The Mighty Boosh is the brainchild of two British comedians, Julian Barrett and Noel Fielding, and it is one of the most random yet most entertaining shows you're going to see around.
The Mighty Boosh has won the NME award from 2007-2009 for best TV show, and in between those won an Rts Program Award for situational comedy and comedy drama. What I am saying is this: [Adult Swim] has added another amazing and satisfying show to their already stellar line-up.
