The Kenneth Branagh Gameshow: Pick Your Thor!
added by newsBotNikkie Finke reported yesterday about the upcoming Thor film and how Marvel and director Kenneth Branagh are facing a big challenge in trying to cast the lead character. In her report, she lists some of the candidates in the running to wield Mjolnir and become the God of Thunder.
Interestingly, she also points out that they are considering Josh Hartnett not only for the role of Loki, the God of Mischief, but to play The Mighty Thor himself. Now, I can see him giving an interesting performance as Loki but my suspension of belief doesn’t extend to him playing Thor.
While there’s some desire by Marvel to see Hartnett or another recognizable actor to play Thor, there’s also a lot of interest in casting an unknown. Personally, I don’t know which would be best for this movie but I liked the idea of casting a relatively

DVD Review: Gabriel Byrne Shines in HBO’s Epic ‘In Treatment’
added by newsBotDVD Rating: 3.5/5.0 Chicago – Like therapy itself, HBO’s “In Treatment” requires a commitment. The award-winning program aired from Monday to Friday on HBO for nearly nine weeks and took up forty-three episodes. If you’re starting from the beginning of “In Treatment,” you will need to clear approximately 1,290 minutes of your schedule. Don’t go in half-heartedly.
At its best, “In Treatment” has a fly-on-the-wall quality that will nearly make you squeamish. It’s like sitting in on someone else’s therapy session. Every episode features another real-time session with a different patient of Dr. Paul Weston (Gabriel Byrne), culminating in the last episode of the week comprising Paul’s own session with his therapist.
In Treatment was released on DVD on March 24th, 2009.

George Lucas Produced ‘Red Tails’ Gets Its Cast
added by newsBotGeorge Lucas has been talking about making a movie based on the Tuskegee Airmen since 1990. Finally, he’s realizing the dream by producing Red Tails, the story of the first African-American pilots to fly in World War II. This will be the first feature film he’s produced that isn’t a Star Wars or Indiana Jones story since 1994 (Radioland Murders).
Thankfully Lucas isn’t directing the feature, but is leaving the day-to-day in the hands of Anthony Hemingway. However, those hands have never directed a feature film before, and the first assistant director is making his debut under the wing of Lucasfilm. Also, Lucas may have brainstormed the story idea, but John Ridley (Undercover Brother) wrote the screenplay. On top of that, Method Man has been cast in one of the roles. Ouch. This thing is spiraling fast…
To pull it off of the tailspin, Lucasfilm recently hired Terrence Howard,
