Fox Home Entertainment has announced a January 12 release date for Post Grad starring Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls) and Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights) on Blu-ray Disc and DVD.
The romantic comedy failed to find legs at the box office with a total take of $6.4 million. Fox hopes it will fare better on Blu-ray with a 1.85:1 1080p transfer and 5.1 DTS-hd Master Audio presentation.
Despite the poor box office run, Fox has packed in an unusually large number of bonus features that will be shared between the standard and high-def versions.

Wow, two Gilmore Girls-related stories in one day. What are the odds? This one's actually less about Gilmore than it is about one of its alums — Melissa McCarthy. The funny lady behind Sookie is guest starring in a January episode of Private Practice, sources confirm to me exclusively. Few shows have earned as much real estate in my heart as the wonderful WB/CW sitcom Gilmore Girls. Maybe it's the pretentious pop culture devourer in me. Or the hopeless romantic who always wished (and still does) that Rory would ditch Dean and Logan and run off into the sunset with her One True Love, Jess. (Sorry, are you on Team Dean? I will fight you. Team Jess forever!) No show has had as much love for its smart, sassy women, or packed as many caffeine-fueled zingers and indie rock cameos into the span of an hour, than this lovely small town fantasy set in Stars Hollow, Ct.
And yet, despite my overwhelming love for Gilmore Girls, I had major issues with the last few seasons. To be honest, I didn't watch the final episode simply out of spite. But apparently I'm not alone; show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino hasn't watched the entire last season! »
