We loved Lauren Graham as quirky, quick-witted and totally charming single mom Lorelai Gilmore on the CW’s Gilmore Girls, but the actress says her newest role as a recent divorcee on NBC’s upcoming dramedy Parenthood is as different from her former character as night and day.
“The tone of the show is so different,” Lauren, 42, told reporters Feb. 11, adding that you can’t even compare her old part to her new role as unhappy mom-of-two Sarah Braverman. “They don’t remind me of each other at all.”
As true Gilmore Girl devotees, we were kind of bummed to hear there’d be no trace of the most likeable TV mom ever in Parenthood, but Lauren reassured us she’s much happier working in an ensemble cast than carrying an entire show on her own. »
