'Better Off Ted's' Andrea Anders joins Matthew Perry pilot
added by newsBotOne of the stars of "Better Off Ted" has booked a role on an ABC pilot, while former "Desperate Housewives" boy toy Jesse Metcalfe will take part in the "Chase" at NBC.
Andrea Anders, who plays Linda on "Ted," has taken the female lead in "Mr. Sunshine," the ABC comedy pilot starring Matthew Perry. She'll play a friend-with-benefits of Perry's character, according to The Hollywood Reporter. (The pilot will be Anders' second with a member of the "Friends" cast; she also starred in "Joey.")
"Mr. Sunshine" is considered in second position to "Better Off Ted," but the show's chances for renewal are pretty slim at this point.
Perry's "Studio 60" co-star Nate Torrence has also joined "Mr. Sunshine." He'll play the son of Perry's boss (Allison Janney).

New Supernatural Crime Drama, The Gates
added by newsBotPrison Break's Frank Grillo has joined Luke Mably, Janina Gavankar and Chandra West for ABC's new supernatural/crime Drama, The Gates. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show revolves around a big-city cop - played by Grillo - who discovers that there is something darker going on with the residents. Richard Hatem of Supernatural and Grant Scharbo serve as writers. The Gates starts shooting in late March in Louisiana and is slated to make its debut this summer. »

Welcome To 'The Gates'

According to THR, in it, a "big-city cop becomes chief of police in a sleepy planned community, only to discover there's much more to the residents than meets the eye." Frank Grillo (Prison Break, the upcoming Mother's Day remake) will star as the new chief of police.
