'Human Target' - 'Lockdown' Recap
added by newsBot(S01E06) It's always a pleasure to watch nerd for hire Kevin Weisman stammer his way through a guest spot on a great show. I loved him as Marshall on 'Alias', enjoyed his stints on 'Moonlight' and 'Roswell', and who could forget his brief appearance as 'Hobbit Lover' in Kevin Smith's 'Clerks II'?
Weisman literally played a nerd for hire in this episode. His character, Martin Gleason, was a brilliant weapons engineer in need of a little rescuing. The twist, of course, was that his own company was holding him prisoner. I guess that's what happens when you're in possession of damning intel that can bring a powerful weapons developer down for good.
'Lockdown' was another fast and fun hour of 'Human Target', a show that literally orders viewers to turn off their brain, sit back and enjoy the implausible ride. »

TV Review: Earnest ‘Life Unexpected’ Should Connect With Viewers
added by newsBotChicago – The television landscape changes so often that it’s a remarkable fact that a network as young as The CW can already have a past that makes a new program feel like a throwback. And yet the incredibly earnest “Life Unexpected” feels like a program that used to be on The WB or Upn before the merge and should appeal to viewers lamenting the lack of shows like it on the air.
Television Rating: 3.0/5.0
The fact is that genuine, heartfelt characters have become hard to find on the youth-driven network. Shows either feature cartoonish, soap opera caricatures like those on “90210,” “Gossip Girl,” or “Melrose Place” or come with a hook like “Smallville” or “Supernatural”. The new drama, “Life Unexpected” harkens back to the days of programs like “Gilmore Girls” and “Everwood,” when character not hook was the number one focus.
