The Mentalist – Season 2: ‘His Red Right Hand’
added by newsBotTonight’s episode begins with the Cbi team being called to a graveyard very early in the morning where a body was found. Under normal circumstances, finding a body in a graveyard might be a normal occurrence. This body, however, was recently frozen into a pose and placed in a mausoleum naked, with a vase of flowers between his legs – certainly puzzling.
Meanwhile back at the Cbi offices, Bosco and his team are burning the midnight oil on the Red John case. Rebecca, Bosco’s secretary, is asked to go get them coffee.
When the others arrive back at the office in the morning, they stumble upon a gruesome crime scene — Bosco and three of the Cbi agents on his team have been shot. Only Bosco is still barely clinging to life as Jane and Lisbon scramble to get him help.

Ratings: CBS delivers 12 of Top 20 shows for the week
added by newsBotNBC's Sunday Night Football franchise—which saw New England take on Indianapolis this past weekend—was on the top of the weekly ratings chart for the broadcast networks for the week ending Nov. 15, drawing 22.4 million viewers to watch the pigskin showdown. But the overall winner on the Top 20? Without question: CBS, which served up 12 of the shows in the Top 20. The No. 2 spot went to the high-performing network, as TV's top scripted show, NCIS, drew 21.0 million viewers. ABC's Dancing with the Stars was still strong, though, and landed at No. 3, with a still-distant-from-ncis 17.6 million viewers. The rest of the Top 20, however, »

The Big Bang Theory Recap: "The Adhesive Duck Deficiency"
added by newsBotI don't care how cliched the pot cookies were or how unrelated the two storylines were on this week's The Big Bang Theory, it was easily the best episode of the season and one of the best in the series.
For some reason, seeing Leonard, Wolowitz, and Raj stoned and uttering some of the best high thoughts of all time was instantly classic. Seriously, Raj's elaborate plan if he could speak to rabbits? His American accent when he mocked the guys? Amazing.
Meanwhile, the B-plot as easily an A+ plot to us. With the other three guys gone, that left Sheldon and Penny alone, the two best characters to ever share screen time together on television. Due to "The Adhesive Duck Deficiency," Penny found herself injured in her shower with no one to help but Sheldon.
The two of them went through an adventure that got a little inappropriate at »

11/16/09: The Big Bang Theory – “The Adhesive Duck Deficiency”
added by newsBotThe Big Bang Theory does one thing well: it tells jokes. As far as sitcoms go, this is enough to consider a show a success. The storylines are bland and unengaging, and the characters are one-dimensional silhouettes, but as long as the jokes stay bountiful, I’ll continue to tune in.
This week’s episode began with Leonard, Raj and Howard deciding uncharacteristically to go camping in the desert to witness a meteor shower. Unable to cope without modern conveniences, the boys reveal a grand undertaking; a portable satellite system able to acquire both east coast and west coast feeds of HBO. Forced to choose between Dune, with its “beautiful looking deserts,” or Real Sex, which “(is always) old women putting condoms on cucumbers,” it becomes rampantly clear this will be this week’s B-storyline
Back home, Sheldon prepares for a solitary night in. Attempting to order one-quarter of a »

11/16/09: How I Met Your Mother – “The Playbook”
added by newsBotGood morning class. Today’s lesson is marketing in the 21st Century. We all know classical marketing strategies, advertisements, branding, promotions, etc. But what are some newer strategies used to market a product? You all watched How I Met Your Mother last night for homework, so let’s use that as an example.
I’m seeing some blank faces out there. Did everyone watch How I Met Your Mother last night? Be honest. Okay, a few of you. That’s not great, but it’s better than my 8:30 class. Let’s take a moment to review the episode so we’re all caught up. And you, is that a bagel? Put it away. Eat on your own time.
Fresh from last week’s break-up with Robin, beloved womanizer Barney Stinson is back in full swing. In order to prove his skills and compensate for lost time, Barney proudly introduces »

Review: The Big Bang Theory - The Adhesive Duck Deficiency
added by newsBot(S03E08) I'm going to just say it right up front: This was the best episode of the season so far, and is neck and neck with the Leonard Nimoy Christmas episode for title of "best episode ever." Though there were two very distinct stories going on here, they were both hilarious. Too often, when the group is separated, the B plot flounders. However, this week, while Raj, Leonard and Wolowitz in the desert wasn't quite as jaw-dropping as Sheldon grabbing Penny's boob(!), it was pretty damn hilarious.
So, about the desert: Pot cookies. It's amazing to me that something so cliched could end up being so unbelievably funny. While all three of the guys made me laugh, Raj was the real scene-stealer. From his threat to eat all of the lettuce in the world and make his rabbit subjects watch, to the American accent he uses to mock Wolowitz and Leonard, »

11/15/2009: The Amazing Race – “We’re Not Meant for the Swamp (Estonia)”
added by newsBotWhat goes through your mind when you think of European travel? A secluded café in Paris? A walk on the streets of foggy London? A cold stein in a Berlin beer garden? A romantic boat ride down the Venetian canals? Whatever your exotic fantasy, it fits two criteria; it resembles a Price Is Right showcase, and it involves the western half of the continent.
For whatever reason, the tourist appeal of Europe inexplicably seems to evaporate somewhere within the borders of Austria. Adding to general disinterest, the media depicts this eastern region as destitute, backwards, decrepit, and just plain bleak. Perhaps a backhanded jab towards the Cold War and the areas behind the Iron Curtain, nobody gives Eastern Europe the glory it deserves. Except, of course, for The Amazing Race, which compresses the cultural identities of Estonia and several other nations into brief 44-minute snippets, consisting mostly of airports and taxi interiors. »

‘Three Rivers,’ ‘Cold Case’ swap spots
added by newsBotCBS is hoping to boost the ratings of its two Sunday night shows by flip-flopping their time slots.
For one week, “Cold Case” will be placed in the 9 p.m. Et slot, which will move “Three Rivers” to the 10 p.m. spot.Last season, the crime drama did much better in the 9 p.m. slot, behind “Without a Trace.” The freshman medical drama is being blamed for the drop in viewers.
The change up comes at the tail end of the November sweeps and toward the end of “Three Rivers’” initial order. Seven episodes have aired, and a couple more have finished filming, which means if the network does want more episodes, it has to make a decision soon to avoid a shutdown of the production.
“Three Rivers” is averaging 8.34 million viewers a week this season (“Cold Case’ averaged 12.15 million last season). But this year, “Cold Case” dropped to 9.45 million viewers weekly. »
