'American Idol,' 'Lost,' represent network TV for the Producers Guild Award nominees
added by newsBotAnother sign that network TV is falling behind cable -- the four big networks only represent 30% of the Producers Guild Awards, including comedies "30 Rock" and "The Office."
Out of the four television categories, only six of the 20 PGA-nominated shows are from ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox. They are "30 Rock," "60 Minutes," "The Amazing Race," "American Idol," "Lost" and "The Office."
Cable networks such as A&E, Bravo, HBO and Showtime dominate the nominations, another example of the growing TV trend where the best shows get made for cable channels. Showtime took home the most nominations with four. The full list of nominees is as follows (via Variety):
Comedy Series
"30 Rock," "Californication," "Entourage," "The Office" and "Weeds."
Drama Series
"Breaking Bad," "Dexter," "Lost," "Mad Men" and "True Blood."
Live Entertainment/Competition
"The Amazing Race," "American Idol," "The Colbert Report," "Project Runway" and "Top Chef."
