Actress and author Fran Drescher sat down today to discuss a hot topic with Americans across the country. The NY Times Best Selling author of "Cancer Schmancer" is speaking out about healthcare reform in hopes of helping give everyone a chance at proper healthcare and the right to an early diagnosis.
The former star of "The Nanny," Drescher was diagnosed with uterine cancer in 2000. After undergoing an immediate radical hysterectomy to treat the disease, she was given a clean bill of health and went on to write her book to tell others about her experience.
Drescher told reporters, "I'm a uterine cancer survivor and it took me two years and eight doctors to get a proper diagnosis. Doctors are being bludgeoned by big business health care insurance to go the least expensive route of diagnostic testing, so very often at cancer's earliest and most curable stages it mimics far more benign illnesses. »

Those who caught last week’s season premiere of Showtime’s original series Californication can give themselves a congratulatory pat on the back. Thanks to the astounding viewership, the show has already been picked up for another season. The episode had 821,000 viewers, which is more than twice as many as the first season initially got.
For those who aren’t on the bandwagon, the series stars David Duchovny as Hank Moody, an at-one-time successful writer, who has hit a bit of writer’s block and relies on vices like booze and women to help him cope. Being on Showtime, this becomes one of the bigger appeals to some watchers as an “adult show.”
The show has some great supporting characters to play alongside Duchovny as well, including Natasha McElhone (Ronin), Pamela Adlon (King of the Hill), Madeline Zima (The Nanny) and Evan Handler (Sex and the City). Also, there are »

Fox Television Studio's new digital arm 15 Gigs released the trailer (above) to its steamy looking stripclub dramedy Tease today, giving us just a little hint of what they are up to with the stealthy new web television division. The original series comes from creators Micah Goldman, Michael Wormser and Peter Marc Jacobson (who created CBS's The Nanny). In what seems to be a more realistic take on the new-girl-turns-dancer story than say Atom's Hot Sluts, this series shows all that juicy dressing room chatter that we never quite get to hear. Marie (Days of Our Lives' Lisa Jay) is the new to the game but is a fast study from the pros, played by Devin Kelley, Sarah Scherger, Samantha Cope and Crystle Lightning.
