Lobo To Be Played By Clancy Brown?
added by newsBotWe put an empty can with a string attached to our ears and heard Mania.com whisper that Clancy Brown, the man who played the formidable and creepy Brother Justin Crowe in HBO’s Carnivale, as well as the heartless Captain Hadley in The Shawshank Redemption, keeps coming up in conversations over at Warner Bros. about who should play Lobo.
Also under discussion, apparently, is just how much CGI should be used for the character. Brown is also an accomplished voiceover artist, working as Mr. Sinister in Wolverine and the X-Men and Mr. Eugene H. Krabs in SpongeBob Squarepants. As of late you can spot him in the teaser trailer for A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Marvel unveils future film, animation and video game projects
added by newsBotComic Book titan Marvel Entertainment has detailed its future slate of film, DVD and video game projects.
The company's latest earnings statement, released on Yahoo, confirmed four upcoming feature films: Iron Man 2 on May 7, 2010; Thor on May 20, 2011; The First Avenger: Captain America on July 22, 2011; and The Avengers on May 4, 2012.
There are two animated TV series in the pipeline: The Super Hero Squad (52 30-minute episodes on Cartoon Network in the Us and launching on international broadcast channels by the end of this year); and The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (52 30-minute episodes in production; timing and network to be decided).
Animated direct-to-dvd projects coming up are: Planet Hulk (production complete, scheduled for February 2010 release); Thor: Tales of Asgard (production complete, release date to be decided).
Outside Marvel's own production studios, Spider-Man 4 is being made by Sony's Columbia Pictures for release on May 6, 2011 and there is a $40million Broadway musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, »

[DVD Review] Marvel Animation: 6 Film Set
added by newsBotMarvel and DC are both in the middle of a new movie strategy where they release animated films of some of their most popular characters direct to DVD. The two rivals have arguably been doing it for ages if you count the spin-off “movies” from their animated television series, but the last 4 years have seen a leap in activity. Have any of them topped Batman: Mask of the Phantasm? No, not really. However, each of the studios seems to be making huge strides with each successive movie. Marvel, having reached its 6 film marker (DC isn’t far behind at this point), have released them all in a box set. While it’s nice to have an anthology to put on the shelf instead of individual DVD cases, it ends up serving as a reminder of how far the films have come since the original Ultimate Avengers: The Movie back in »
